    Upcoming NERC’s ColdFront upgrade and maintenance will occur on Monday November 27, 2023 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM.

    GENERAL MAINTENANCE

    • We will be upgrading to a newer version of ColdFront that will support OpenShift Resource allocations attributes for GPU quota. This enables users to use NVIDIA GPUs on NERC OpenShift. Also, all new approved allocation on NERC-OCP (OpenShift) resource type will have Red Hat OpenShift Data Science (RHODS) Platform enabled by default. This enables NERC users to rapidly develop, train, and test Artificial Intelligence (AI) / machine learning (ML) models along with setting up accelerated AI/ML workflows and the delivery of AI-powered intelligent applications.

    • This upgrade will cause some outages to the NERC’s ColdFront service.

    NOTICES

    • We are upgrading and updating NERC's ColdFront deployment.

    • After the upgrade, PIs and Project Manager(s) will be able to request NVIDIA GPUs on NERC OpenShift resource allocations.

    • All newly approved NERC-OCP (OpenShift) resource allocation will have enabled RHODS workbench access.

    • The estimated time to complete this update is 2 hours. It can take more or less time, so we urge you to keep an eye on https://nerc.instatus.com/ to get the progress during this time.
